THE START OF SOMETHING BEAUTIFUL

In August of 2012, Jesse and Caitlyn met at Washington State University in Spokane. Go Cougs! Jesse was starting his senior year and finishing his Bachelor’s degree while Caitlyn was beginning her first year on the campus as a junior. Outside of school, through soccer and periodical beers, they developed a friendship. He was funny, outgoing and had the cutest dimples. She had the bluest eyes, was exciting and full of life. Both of them had busy schedules keeping them occupied from each other. It wasn’t until a year later when they unexpectedly reconnected at a country bar. They ended up dancing together through the night. And the rest, as they say, is history…

the proposal

October 15th 2016 - Jesse and Caitlyn were on their way to Leavenworth for the annual Oktoberfest celebration. They had done this four years in a row with a group of friends and stayed in a buddy’s cabin at Stevens Pass. They met up with friends in downtown Leavenworth. The guys decided to hit up a distillery, so the girls left for some wine tasting. Little did Caitlyn know, it was all a ploy and the guys headed back to the cabin to set the scene. Finally, when the girls got back, they urged Caitlyn to go inside the cabin first. Still clueless, she walked through a trail of candles and white rose pedals leading to the living room. When she saw the room decorated with pictures from the last three years of their time together and Jesse standing there, she was immediately overcome with happiness… and cried (classic Caitlyn). Jesse walked over to Caitlyn, grabbed her hands in his, got down on one knee, pulled out a big ole shiny ring and asked her to marry him. She said “YES!” with the biggest smile on her face as their friends rushed in with the bubbly.
