the start of something beautiful

Clay and Devon's story began on August 20, 2017, at a coffee shop in Seattle. They met the old fashioned way—using an online dating app, Bumble. After one more date the following Friday night (cat sitting for Linus, Devon’s dad’s cat) in which they wound up talking for 6 hours sitting on the kitchen floor, they both knew there was something very special between them. Clay called his mom that night and told her he found the girl he was going to marry. Within a week, he professed his love and the two began having adventures together all over Seattle.

the proposal

On November 10, Clay led Devon back to the coffee shop where they first met and asked her to marry him. After saying yes (and both calming down), they had a celebratory brunch and then headed to the airport for a trip back to California, where Clay was excited to introduce his new fiancé to his family. The two of them have been busy ever since, both with wedding planning and spending as much time together as possible. They are now planning to move in August, and begin their new life together as husband and wife.
